Ningbo: Anastasia Zakharova leads 5-6 against Marie Bouzkova live

The Ningbo tournament court shimmers this Wednesday, October 21 at 07:10 under the first rays of sunlight. Anastasia Zakharova, world No. 111, faces Marie Bouzkova, world No. 26, in a duel where every point matters. The 23-year-old Russian has imposed her game to lead 5-6 in the first set. Her cross-court backhand and mobility on short balls have troubled Bouzkova, a Czech known for her powerful returns.

The pressure is palpable as Bouzkova, accustomed to big stages, tries to turn the tide. Her aggressive play, especially on first serves, has saved set points. Zakharova, meanwhile, remains focused, exploiting her opponent’s weaknesses with well-placed drop shots. The sparse early crowd holds its breath with every rally.

Tennis is being written in capital letters here: long rallies, powerful serves, and quick reactions. Zakharova and Bouzkova, two contrasting styles, clash in a match where consistency could make the difference. The next phase promises intensity, with a potential tie-break to close this tight first set.
