A Swiss player seeking consistency

Belinda Bencic, runner-up in San Diego last week, arrives in Wuhan with positive momentum. The Swiss player will need to stay focused to avoid falling into the traps set by her opponent.

A Chinese player aiming for a breakthrough

Shuai Zhang, ranked No. 81, is looking to bounce back after a season marked by inconsistent performances.
